Unused Areas

Though 15 tracks are available in this game, 5 additional ones are referenced in D\BIKE\TRACKS.TXT. They all have track, model and texture data still available in the folder TRACKS, and are as follows:

  • ITALY, a rendition of the Monza Circuit.
  • ITALY2, a rendition of the Imola Circuit.
  • AUSTRAL, a rendition of the Adelaide Street Circuit.
  • LEICS, a rendition of the Donington Park circuit.
  • VILLAGF, which seems to be an original track.

Unused Text Strings

The game's text strings, which are located in the directory D\BIKE\TEXT, contain several strings that are never seen in-game. Most of them are leftovers from Castrol Honda Superbike Racing, as well as the game it is based on, Castrol Honda Superbike World Champions.

Unused Parameters

The main race configuration parameter file, PLAY\BIKEGAME.CFG, contains several unused text parameters which relate to default player names for slots 3 to 8, which is not possible since this game is up to 2 players only. Most of them seem to match already-existing names for CPU drivers, though the name in HumanPlayerName7 is unique.

HumanPlayerName3 D JEFFRIES
HumanPlayerName4 D TAILFORD
HumanPlayerName5 A MCGRATH
HumanPlayerName6 D MILLER
HumanPlayerName7 B RED
HumanPlayerName8 K DUNN

Regional Difference

While the original American releaase has text in the Championship results screens, the European release strangely lacks them.
