Dialogue

Character Dialogue Voice clip Notes
Spyro Yeah, do that.
Spyro says this at the end of another line of dialogue, where he says "phew, close one" beforehand. This extra bit of dialogue was probably added later and so this shorter version remains unused.
Hey, Hunter! Have you finished exploring the cave?
A line very similar to these is used in the game.
Hi Hunter! Have you finished exploring?
What? Why are you staring at me like that? I look cool, huh.
Intended use is unknown.
Y-you mean the supercharge gadget is charged?
Probably part of an unused conversation between the Professor and Spyro.
It's already brung!
Probably meant to be said in response to Red saying "Bring it" in his boss fight.
Professor I'm... kind of busy sciencing right now... why don't you go to the swamp and bug the dragon elder there?
Likely some extra banter meant to be said by the Professor if you speak to him again.
Off you go, Spyro, I'm terribly busy. You should be on your way to the next realm anyway. I must start preparing for my next creation... the invincibility gadget!
Likely meant to be used before heading off to the second realm, where the invincibility gadget is introduced.
Professor (hologram) Spyro, this is an activation pad for my latest invention... the Ball Gadget! Of course, to operate it, you'll need to collect enough light gems.
Same as the ball gadget cutscene in the final game, but without the reference to Mario's "power stars" at the end.
You can't activate the Ball Gadget until you have all the light gems I need!
A much calmer response is actually used in the game when you try to talk to the Professor in the Ball Gadget without enough light gems.
Ahh! Ah Spyro, you did it! They way is now clear to travel to the next realm. I'll turn on the teleporter, and when you're ready just step on the pad and activate it. I'll talk to you again when you get to the next realm!
This rather energetic line was probably meant to be used after you beat the Gnasty Gnorc boss, and it was replaced with a different line in the final game.
Ahh, Spyro, I see you made it saf-... uhm... oh dear...
These unused lines describe some sort of scrapped event where Spyro seemingly wouldn't have been teleported... correctly.
Uhm, matter transportation is still in its relatively early stage, uh, but don't worry, hehe! We'll have you sorted out in, uh... um, no time, umm, just... step back on the teleporter, Spyro.
Ahh... that's better. Now you're here, the next thing you should do is try to find the elder in the Cloudy Domain.
You'll need 32 light gems to power the gadget.
This is most likely referring to the Invincibility gadget, which costs 24 light gems in the final game, not 32.
Now Spyro... you know I need 24 light gems to power this thing! Come back when you have all the light gems I need.
Probably meant to be used when Spyro does not have enough light gems for the invincibility gadget. The final game uses a different line.
You'll need 52 light gems to power the gadget.
These lines refer to the supercharge gadget which costs 40 light gems in the final game, not 52.
Do you have the 52 light gems I need...? Come back when you have them, the supercharge will be activated.
Well done Spyro, the charge gadget is supercharged!
Probably part of an unused conversation between the Professor and Spyro. Spyro has an unused line which fits between these ones.
Isn't that... what I... said?
Nice run, Spyro! However, there is only way back to the top... and only I can send you there.
These lines likely refer to the Ball Gadget section in Magma Falls, where you go from the top of the volcano to the bottom. It seems the Professor would've been there to send Spyro back to the top of the course. This wouldn't make sense, since he said at the beginning of the realm that he was digging his way down to Red's Lair. In the final game, you simply enter the Ball Gadget again to return to the top.
Would you like to return to the top of the volcano?
Fancy another run through the volcano, Spyro? I could always send you back to the top.
There are many different ways through the volcano, Spyro... have you tried them all? I could send you back to the top, to see if there are any you missed.
Moneybags Weeell if you are done shopping for the moment, Spyro, you'd better be on your way, goodbye, farewell, get out.
These lines were likely used for when the player spends too much time doing nothing in the shop.
I haven't got all day!
Time is money, you know.
Ohh, come come, don't be stingy with those lovely gems, Spyro.
A bunch of lines probably meant to be said either outside or inside the store. These seemingly have no reason to be cut except maybe the "I have new items delivered all the time" line, since the game's shop actually always sells the same items.
Go inside and see what strikes your fancy, Spyro.
Check back regularly, I have new items delivered all the time!
Ahh... peek-a-boo?
Yes, browse my fine wares, Spyro.
Nothing but the best, if not the cheapest.
Top quality merchandise, until you get it out of the store.
Hoho, yes! That really is a good choice! You are smart guy.
Hey, you're on a roll, why not buy more!
Don't be stingy with those lovely gems, Spyro. Didn't your mother tell you to share?
Having trouble deciding? Why not take them both?
Spyro, I can now let you teleport to previous shop pads you have visited. Just enter the shop and select the transport pass.
These lines describe how the shop pad teleport system works. This is never explained through cutscenes in the game, so it is unknown when these lines would've been spoken.
Even if you don't want to buy anything, there are still ways to give me money. For example, you can pay me to teleport you to any of the shop pads you've already visited.
Moneybags (hologram) Oh, Spyro, you poor thing... look at all those heavy gems you have to carry. Please, let me... relieve you of that burden.
This was likely replaced by a shorter line which essentially says the same thing.
Ehh... yes... I suppose I could teleport you back to the shop with this pad... for a price!
These lines are likely leftovers from the demo, where the only option for teleporting was going back to the main shop.
Spyro, you can now use the shop pads to teleport back to the main shop, hoho, convenient yes? If you want to go back to the Dragon Village, you can buy a pass in the shop, and you will be teleported there after you buy the pass from me, hehe! Everybody is happy.
Ahh, Spyro! I've just needlessly marked up the prices on some new items, why do you not have a look?
It's unknown if the shop would've actually increased the prices at specific times like Moneybags says.
Zoe Your current progress is saved.
Likely replaced by the longer bit of banter the characters have after Zoe zaps Spyro.
Hunter Hey, Spyro. Did you know you can use the double jump to glide further? If you can find a dragon egg and get back here safely, I'll open the door for ya.
Slightly different version of a line used in the game.
Uh, should I search the cave for you, Spyro?
These were likely meant to occur when Spyro speaks with Hunter to enter a section/level.
So, I guess you'll be needing my skill and expertise again?
Maybe I should take it from here.
You want Hunter to go in there again, right?
You're not gonna be able to go further until that bridge is activated. I think part of this cave leads out to the other side of the bridge.
It's unknown what bridge Hunter is referring to here, as no such scenario exists in the game. It might refer to the drawbridge in Ice Citadel, but the cave beyond it isn't accessable until it has been opened.
Sparx Should I try again, Spyro?
Variations on the same line, likely meant to be used when talking to Sparx again after beating a Dragon Egg challenge in his minigame. In the final game, Sparx also mentions doing it for a light gem.
Should I try again, Spyro?
Should I try again?
Should I try again, Spyro?
Ohh, crud...
Intended use is unknown.
Blink Should I try again?
Variations on the same line, likely meant to be used when talking to Blink again after beating a Dragon Egg challenge in his minigame. In the final game, Blink also mentions doing it for a light gem. The last line of these four has a duplicate.
Should I dive in and explore below ground?
Should I try again?
Should I try again?
Should I try again and see if I can find you a light gem? Come on, lemme get down there!
Likely replaced by a similar line without the last bit.
Sgt. Byrd What say I have another go, ol' chap?
Variations on the same line, likely meant to be used when talking to Sgt. Byrd again after beating a Dragon Egg challenge in his minigame. In the final game, Byrd also mentions doing it for a light gem.
Shall I give it another go?
Shall I give it another go?
Right! Should I get airborne, captain?
Likely replaced by a similar line.
Gnasty Yeah sure, follow me.
Intended use unknown.
Fredneck Hrm! Some dragon you are! The only thing draggin' around here is your pokey behind!
This was used in the Preview Build. If Spyro refused to help Fredneck, speaking to him again would prompt this line before the mini-game could be accessed.
Elder Thomas Spyro, as soon as you can, you should visit Elder Magnus in the swamp. If a dark gem was placed in my cave... who knows what Red might have done to the other elders.
Likely meant to be used after Spyro destroys the first dark gem.
Elder Magnus Be on your way now, Spyro, I'm busy brewing up a new, magical broth!
Probably meant to be used if the players speaks with Magnus again.
Elder Titan Okay, Spyro, better not stand around all day. Looks like you've got to save the world... again... and I've got to go eat my pudding, I like pudding...
Probably meant to be used if the players speaks with Titan again.
Elder Astor I've been the least helpful dragon elder so far, haven't I? Don't answer that!
Probably meant to be used if the players speaks with Astor again.
Oh, I suppose I should do it, I do everything!
Likely meant to be played in the secret ending where it is suggested that a TV is turnt off.
Otto Dude? What about my pool? Refill the pool, and the light gem is yours, dude.
Likely meant to be used when Spyro talks to Otto without having completed his quest.
Mergatroid If you wanna get to the other end of this machine, you will need to be indestructible.
Lines that likely refer to the belt factory machine that the player uses invincibility to get through. Mergatroid presumably would've stood at the start of the obstacle and used these lines.
A friend of mine got crushed in that machine. You would need to be indestructible to get through there.
Why is it I never get to go outside? The others are always going out! Maybe I should put in for a transfer to the cannon fodder wing...
Probably would've been used when speaking to the various Mergatroids around Red's Lab with no particular context.
Red Huh? Let me out! Let me out immediately! How dare you! Don't you know who I am?
Likely meant to be used for the scrapped ending cutscene where Red has been captured in a Jar and is put inside the Professor's laboratory.

Grunts/Reactions

Nearly every character has a bunch of small voice snippits they play when greeting, getting hurt by or otherwise interact with the player. Some of these never see any use.
Since there are so many (and they aren't very distinct from each other), only three are shown per character.

Character Voice clip Notes
Aqua
Since Aqua never hangs around after Ineptune is defeated, these clips go unused.
Freezia
Since Freezia never hangs around after Red is defeated, these clips go unused.
The Mammoth
Since the player never directly interacts with the mammoth, these are never used.
