Warring Names

Uh, shouldn't this category be called "Famicom / Advance Wars" now? // Foxhack 18:36, 19 November 2012 (EST)

Actually, it should probably be called "Nintendo Wars", as the Game Boy games also had a different "Wars" title. -WarioBarker 20:16, 19 November 2012 (EST)
... But there aren't any Nintendo Wars games. Just Famicom / Game Boy / Advance / Battalion Wars. The Nintendo Wars title isn't official. // Foxhack 20:47, 19 November 2012 (EST)
Indeed, it's an unofficial Fan-name for the series to be inclusive of everything. The series is officially Advance Wars outside of Japan and Famicom Wars/Gameboy Wars (which varies) inside of Japan. "Nintendo Wars" is used as a catchall most of the time. // Xenesis 12:26, 20 November 2012 (CDT)
IMO, I think it should be called "[Blank] Wars". With the blank be Famicom / Advance Wars. Chaossy - The Computer Geek 21:00, 19 November 2012 (EST)
That would just create confusion with Star Wars. "Nintendo Wars" is easily the most all-encompassing name. -WarioBarker 15:19, 23 November 2012 (EST)
Wouldn't just "Wars" work (though "Nintendo Wars" would be fine, too, I guess)? --Luigi-San (talk) 14:46, 9 January 2015 (EST)
I'm liking what Wikipedia says in the Wars (series) article: "The Wars series, also known as Famicom Wars in Japan, Advance Wars in the West, and occasionally Nintendo Wars as a whole"
So that basically puts it down to either the Western name (Advance Wars), the more inclusive name (Wars) or the fan name (Nintendo Wars). I'm more in favour of the second option. -Einstein95 (talk) 14:53, 9 January 2015 (EST)
