Letters

Present in some folders are two letters written by one of the game's developers. It seems that they were just copied to folder so the developer would not forget to send them out, as there is no way to access them in-game.

kennethletter.txt

Kennethletter.txt can be found in the AlliesEnclave_Old folder from all releases except for the Windows port, as the level backup was removed in that release.

tableturning.txt

The tableturning.txt letter is present in the AlliesEnclave folder from all releases of the game.

One Year on.......

During my 5 years of instutionalised service at Hever Castle or Shawshank as i came to call it,
i must of served some of the most boring indivisuals born on this planet.
Everything from conferences, weddings, and functions of all sorts,
not to mention weekly dish washing shift as well......then one day Atari came down to the castle.
one of the largest video game companies in the world.Franticly excited that this could be my ticket out of here
i asked if anyone would look at my portfolio. One man did,he made some empty promises,...they came, they saw, they went home.
I went back to work in my penguin suit and clockwork Hair cuts and washed more dishes whilst ever building a better portfolio.

4 months later hype hit me again when Acclaim were to visit.

During this 3 day visit,
a press release for Acclaims latest game (A Bards Tale) was being held.
At least 30 odd journalist attended and i had to carry around
stacks of suitcases and camera equipment for t.v crews and journalists alike.
Sweating at the collar in my embarasing bow tie and tight waist jacket,i must of soiled my entire uniform,...i don't recall to many thanks.
Profusively told not to harass any members of the company like i had before to Atari, my colleagues were watching me.
Pacing the corridors with dreams of a future making Video games, i sneakingly approached big wig larry Spark(Head producer),
with prints in my hand from my portfolio.... he was impressed.
with a little chit chat he set up a interview for me almost their on the spot. I went but it didn't transpire.

Shortly after this with Aardvark swift on the job,i nailed a job with Travellers tales.

Thrilled and ecstatic i made myself as comfortable as possible.

Shortly after this Acclaim declared bankruptcy and closed down.Leaving Hever Castle unpaid for their outing.

One year later.....and 3 levels in (The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe Video Game).
Possibly this christmas's biggest seller!
Travellers Tales held a press day on Monday 16th June. 15 to 20 groups of various nationalities came storming through the office
to look and everybody's work,..i was filmed, interviewed, photographed, signed posters, and as i faced these people
who did i see,...... yes the many faces from the Acclaim Press day.
And possibly the same heavy camera i had to carry around was now being stuck in my face.

Strange how things work out.

So ive said it before and here it comes again,....

Thank you all at Aardvark Swift

Unused Model?

There is a .obj file repeated in some folders but with different filenames. When any of these files are loaded in a model viewer, it shows an intended or unused level but with no textures.

Unused Level Select

This level select is actually from the demo but all the files are still in the full version, so it goes unused.

The level descriptions also went unused.

Texture Oddities

There are some textures used in the level select menu that are actually just photos from the movie.

Unused Dialogue

Hmmm...
To do:
These were actually dubbed in other language versions of the game. If it's of interest, rip them and add them here.

Throughout the first few levels of the game, the children would occasionally speak to give tips on the current situation of the level. It seems these would last throughout the entire game but these stop after the third level, leaving many recorded lines completely absent in the final game. Some of the dialogue can actually be heard in the unlockable cast interviews in the bonus content menu at the bottom of the wardrobe.

The first few lines show that there could've been a part of the level were the children had to move a snowball to break some sort of ice.

Battle of Beruna

Something to note here, is that whenever archers or eagles are summoned to take down a giant, the boys call out "Archers/Eagles, fire!", except Edmund who uses a generic "fire!" call when summoning eagles. Interestingly, Peter also seems to have a generic call that ultimately goes unused.

Audio Character Transcript
Edmund His armor is too strong!
Peter We can't damage his armor!
Peter Fire!

The Witch's Castle

Apparently, Susan at one point would be able to defeat the horrors by summoning Aslan. A small fun fact is that Susan's "Aagh, dear me..." line is partially used, with the hurt sound being used in the cutscene where the stairs break and the girls fall.

Audio Character Transcript
Susan Aagh! Dear me...
Lucy We found the statues for Aslan! Susan, use your Ivory Horn!

Lucy Susan, try using your horn to summon Aslan!

Susan These horrors seem to lurk in dark places...

The Great Battle?

This set of voice lines are particularly interesting. Chronologically, these sound files are found in the folder that corresponds to the Great Battle level, but upon listening to them it's easy to tell that these belong to a completely different level mechanic! It seems that originally the level was going to be composed of some sort of strategic use of our troops and careless use of them would end up with them falling in combat, with either Edmund or Oreius announcing such. In the end, this idea was replaced with Susan and Lucy joining the boys in a final "beat 'em up" wave style level.

Peter and Edmund's Special Attacks

Hmmm...
To do:
These sound files were actually dubbed in other language versions of the game. If it's of interest, rip them and add them here.

Inside the game's sound files, unused dialogue of Peter and Edmund calling out their special attacks can be found. Several interesting things can be appreciated here. The first one being the fact that it seems that originally the boys were going to mention their attacks' names everytime they were cast. Edmund also appears to have a dialogue line for Shield Slam, despite it being an ability that can only be learned and used by Peter. Lastly, two abilities that can not be found in the final game being Bane, which is interesting since the Bane skills always has a specific creature attached to it, and Lion's Mane which has a similar name as Lion's Roar/Claw/Leap but ultimately unused.

Defeat The Witch

There is a video named after the final level in the battle2 folder from the PlayStation 2 release. It seems to be a video taken from the 3D modeling software Maya, as there are several files produced by it in the same folder.

Very Early LEGO Star Wars Canteen Hub

Acactussayswhat?
Please elaborate.
Having more detail is always a good thing.
Specifically: How old is this early version of the hub?

Found in the game's files is a very early canteen hub from LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, another game by Traveler's Tales. It is in a primitive state and has no collision detection. It only loads correctly in LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy.
