A year after the game was released in the US, a manga series by the name of Youkai Buster Ruka was created in Japan, and the creators of it got Sting to reprogram the game into a Youkai Buster game.

Level Select (Youkai Buster only)

Go to the options menu and hold any direction on the D-Pad for at least 5 seconds. Note that this will not work under the easy difficulty.
