The Master System version of The Lion King not only served as the basis for the Game Gear iteration, but has graphics that are pretty nice by Master System standards.

Oh, and it blows the very much inferior NES port out of the water in every way.

Level Select

At the Disney/Virgin Interactive copyright screen, hold Up until the screen fades out. Release Up and press Down, Left, Right, Up, Down. A sound will confirm correct entry. Start the game to access the level select, which also contains a build date and programmer credit.

Debug Mode

Setting C634 to 01 during gameplay activates a debug mode, left over earlier in development. This makes Simba invulnerable to all enemies, obstacles, and offscreen falls. A free-movement mode can be used by holding 2 and moving Simba around with the D-Pad.

Note that Simba cannot defeat any bosses while this is active (change C634 back to 00 to deactivate).
