This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Hmmm...
To do:
All of the game's data is stored in an encrypted bin file. The game data needs to be extracted from the bin file so it will become significantly easier to data-mine the game.

Totally Spies! 3 is the third installment in the handheld Totally Spies series. Unlike its predecessors, it's not a glorified minigame collection, instead being an extremely samey 2D platformer/beat-'em-up with a tedious Touch Screen-based combat system. At least the music is good.

Unused Text

Loaded into approximately x0253B9C8 of RAM is the game's text. There are a handful of text strings which go unused.

Menus

TS 4 life

Present between the text for the menus. "TS" presumably stands for "Totally Spies".

Choose a game to load

Presumably intended for the file select screen. The final game instead uses "Choose a game".

You have no more room to save games, you must delete a game

Instructions telling the player that there is no more room to start a new save file. It is only possible to load or delete files, thus this cannot be seen in-game.

Cannot read data.
Cannot write data.
Cannot read data. Turn off power and re-insert the Game Card.
Cannot write data. Turn off power and re-insert Game Card.

Multiple text strings relating to the game being unable to read/write data, intended for when the game is incapable of saving/loading data. The game saves/loads data almost instantly, and removing the cartridge immediately freezes the game with no message.

Retry?
YES
NO

Multiple text strings relating to a retry screen, likely after getting a game over. When getting a game over, the game immediately takes the player back to the title screen after the game over screen ends/is skipped.

Tutorials

Hmmm...
To do:
See if these tutorials can still be accessed in-game.
When you press $, we move... Isn't it magic?
When you press $, we crawl. Not very good for our clothes, but then...
When you press $, we jump. Very useful for climbing on platforms!

Tutorials from the spies for walking, crawling, and jumping respectively. The crawling tutorial oddly has two spaces between sentences. The dollar signs seem to be placeholders for potential images for the buttons needed. Judging from the language used in these tutorials, it seems that these tutorials were intended for Alex, Clover, and Sam respectively.

You can control Clover, Sam or me. If you want to change, touch our portrait icons on the touch screen

A tutorial from Alex for switching characters. This is oddly positioned between Clover's tutorial for activating switches and Sam's tutorial for checkpoints.

Touch the infiltration icon and we'll put on our disguises. Then we can move around discretely... and I know all about discretion!
When we are disguised, if the guards are too zealous or become suspicious, touch the infiltration icon again, we'll use our special infiltration move and presto, no-one will know!

Tutorials from the spies for using disguises. In the game, Jerry gives a completely different tutorial for disguises with these tutorials appearing after Jerry's tutorial.
