Regional Differences
Title Screen
Besides the complete logo change, the pink on the Konami logo was changed to red and the logo itself was slightly redrawn, and some of the company information was modified.

Password Screen
The password screen lost a lot of detail in the international versions, removing the graphic of the athlete, the red border, the bow at the bottom of the password entry and the underlines beneath the "Password please." text. The password entry was also centered and the previously mentioned text was changed to blue, which also slightly affects the colors of the shoes.

Typewriter Screen
To keep with Nintendo of America's policies at the time, the lit cigarette and the ash tray it's in was removed in the international versions.

Portraits
Some of the character portraits are totally redrawn between regions, possibly because they looked like they were melting in the Japanese version.

Credits
A staff roll that was present in the Japanese version was omitted from the international versions, despite being completely in English. In the Japanese version, the text can be easily read in the game's code, but the text was completely removed in the western versions. The full text reads as follows:
PROGRAM KONAMIC UENO PEGUCHI KUN YAMADA J.J CHARACTER DESIGN CONPAGNO OGIKUBO PEISUKE TAKAKI TANPAN SOMA MR. MIYAUCHI SOUND EFFECT ALL SOUND STAFF OF FC KUKEIHA TEAM AND KONAMI BUG CHECK CLUB KONAMI 1988
Miscellaneous
- "OLYMPIC MODE" was changed to "CHAMPIONSHIP MODE" (only for USA Revision 2).
- The torch icon has a different shading.
- Some of the background colors during gameplay are different.
- In the Japanese version, anything that isn't selected is a gray version of the select graphic. The US version doesn't have this at all.
