This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
SwordMar2018DebugMenu.png

After pressing the start button on the title screen, a debug menu appears. The Dpad or analog stick can be used to navigate these menus.

Field

When this option is selected, the player's last save file is loaded.

BattleViewer

SwordMar2018BattleViewer.png

This is a way for the user to test out various battle mechanics.

BattleViewer(Raid)

Hmmm...
To do:
What do all of the submenus do?
SwordMar2018BattleViewerRaid.png

Selecting this option places the player in a raid battle. All trainers use the player's model. By default the trainers all use Marowak, and the raid boss is a Tyrunt.

BattleViewer(Single)

Hmmm...
To do:
What do all of the submenus do?
SwordMar2018BattleViewerSingle.png

Selecting this option places the player in a raid battle. Both trainers use the player's model. By default the trainers all use Marowak.

BattleViewer(Double)

Hmmm...
To do:
What do all of the submenus do?
SwordMar2018BattleViewerDouble.png

AriizumiBattle

Nothing happens when this is selected.

BgTest

Selecting this results in an error code.

WideRoad

SwordMar2018DebugWideRoad.png

Chara Select

SwordMar2018CharaSelect.png

This option brings up a menu to view character models, but nothing shows up on screen other than the menus.

DebugBattle

This option crashes the game.

Chara View

Choosing this option displays an error code and crashes the game.

Demo Player

Hmmm...
To do:
Get a video of ev0050_get

This menu allows the user to view animation sequences. ev0050_get is the only option that actually functions when selected. Choosing any of the following options will crash the game:

  • test00
  • test01
  • ev0050_masaki
  • ev0440_ship
  • ev0800_ghost
  • ev08200_champ

  • sd9031_gamestart02
  • sd9032_gamestart03
  • sd9060_fly
  • sd9070_iaigiri
  • sd9080_kairiki
  • sd9090_naminori
  • sd9100_flash

  • sub_049_freezer
  • sub_050_mewtwo

Uikit

Hmmm...
To do:
Get a video showing these off

This mode allows the user to test various UI functions.

FieldViewer

SwordMar2018FieldViewer.png

Choosing this will place the player character in an empty room, similar to 'WideRoad02. There is a window showing the player's current xyz coordinates, and an instruction at the top of the screen that says "編集モード開始: 「L (押しながら)+ZL". Pressing any of the Dpad directions moves the camera in that direction; this feature seems unique to this mode. Pressing/Holding L and ZL doesn't seem to do anything.

ohno

SwordMar2018ohno.png

Choosing this brings up a second screen of debug options, but none seem to do anything. This menu is likely named after programmer Katsumi Ohno.

Obata

SwordMar2018Obata.png

Like with the ohno menu, choosing this brings up a second screen of debug options. This menu may be named after battle system programmer Toshihiro Obata.

The IgumiTest option is the only one that loads anything, all other options bring the user to a blank screen. Choosing IgumiTest brings up a new window, allowing the user to test various functions like input boxes, selectable options, buttons, and sliders.

SwordMar2018IgumiTest.png

ikuta

This menu allows users to access an early version of the Pokémon Camp. It is likely named after Pokémon Camp Programmer Junya Ikuta.

SwordMar2018Ikuta.png

Beacon

SwordMar2018Beacon.png

Both of the options in this menu only load a blank screen.

muto

This menu allows users to test a few UI features. It is likely named after UI System Programmer Yu Muto.

SwordMar2018muto.png
  • BattleUI loads a blank screen.
  • UIManagerTest briefly loads the rotom minimap in the bottom-right corner, but then loads a blank screen.
  • RFUITest permanently loads the rotom minimap in the bottom-right corner and leaves it on screen. The user can move the map by moving the left analog stick. Pressing the "A" button will display a sticker on the top-left of the screen, from a player named "". Pressing the "L" button will get rid of the sticker, and it can't be called back on screen. The Dpad can also be used to use stickers, just like in the regular Field gameplay.
SwordMar2018RFUItest.png
  • ReportTest displays a screen with numbers 00 through 11, but the user isn't able to do anything.
SwordMar2018mutoReportTest.png

sanga

This menu allows users to test a few UI features. It is likely named after UI System Programmer Akio Sanga.

  • ReportTest displays a screen with the number 00 in the center. The user can't do anything except go back to the menu with the B button.
  • GridPanel displays three buttons. When a button is pressed, text appears on screen saying "button_0X was pressed." Pressing button_02 brings the user back to the main sanga menu. Notably, these buttons resemble those from the games Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon.

(compare image to alola game)

  • BtnTest has the exact same functions as GridPanel, but the buttons are larger and more reminiscent of the final game's style. The text here is always Japanese.

kawai

This menu may be named after Kiyotaka Kawai, credited as a "Special Thanks" in the final game.

  • Like with the previous two, ReportTest brings up a screen that the user can't interact with.
  • UIkitButton brings the user to a screen with three buttons. Notably, an animation is played that shows the buttons appearing on-screen.

nakayama

This menu may be named after UI System Programmer Hiroki Nakayama.

  • Choosing FieldMenuProc, ShopWalletProc, or MsgWindowProc results in the game crashing.
  • Choosing ContextMenuProc brings up a menu that the user can navigate through. None of these options do anything, the user is just brought to a blank screen.

Sakai

The selection in this menu doesn't do anything other than bring the user to a blank screen.

wakabayashi

This menu may be named after UI System Programmer Taku Wakabayashi.

  • Choosing crashes the game.
