Whack a Bubble is a fairly standard Breakout clone released late in the CD-i's life. The game's main gimmick is that the bubble must share the same color as the ball in order for it to pop... or you can blow up particularly stubborn bubbles with lasers shot from your paddle.

Hidden Developer Videos

Included on the disc are six inconspicuous .rtf files named fun1 to fun6. These are actually MPEG files containing behind-the-scenes videos from Creative Media's staff. (None of the videos have any sound; therefore, the YouTube upload uses the game's soundtrack.)

  • fun1: The Creative Media logo dangling around.
  • fun2: Two people playing around with a toy car. The "Mini Machines 3D" card at the start implies that the video is a reference to Codemasters' Micro Machines game, which had a CD-i version.
  • fun3: Three developers waving at the camera, with a fourth one joining in soon after.
  • fun4: Whack a Bubble's main menu, displayed on a TV screen. The camera turns around to show a developer who fell asleep while play-testing the game.
  • fun5: A developer holding Creative Media's three (released) CD-i titles; Whack a Bubble, Tetsuo Gaiden, and Christmas Country.
  • fun6: A fairy long video that partially consists of random shots taken around Creative Media's office. In the middle is a montage of a CD being cut up, stuck inside a Christmas Country case and then into an envelope, and then hurriedly thrown into a garbage bin outside.
