This is a sub-page of Cookie Clicker.

This game has a lot of unused upgrades and achievements.

Unused Upgrades

These upgrades either cannot be obtained legitimately as of now or do not have any functionality.

Debug Upgrades

These upgrades can be purchased from the stats tab by enabling debug mode.

Unlike other upgrades, debug upgrades appear in the stats tab. Their icons are semi-transparent when not purchased or highlighted, and the normal [Purchased] tag is replaced with [Click to learn!], or [Click to unlearn!] if the upgrade is already owned.

Icon Name Type Cost Description Notes ID
Cookieclicker-ultrascience.png Ultrascience Debug
7 cookies
Research takes only 5 seconds.
"YEAH, SCIENCE!"
This causes the research process to take only 5 in-game seconds, or 150 frames. This does not stack with the upgrade Persistent memory.
79
Cookieclicker-goldhoard.png Gold hoard Debug
7 cookies
Golden cookies appear really often.
"That's entirely too many."
This causes a golden cookie or wrath cookie to spawn the moment after the previous cookie disappears, either by being clicked on or by despawning. The upgrade Distilled essence of redoubled luck does not appear to have any effect while this upgrade is active.
83
Cookieclicker-neuromancy.png Neuromancy Debug
7 cookies
Can toggle upgrades on and off at will in the stats menu.
"Can also come in handy to unsee things that can't be unseen."
This allows the player to toggle upgrades on or off by clicking on a purchased upgrade in the stats menu. Upgrades that are owned by the player have the [Click to unlearn!] tag added to them.
91
Cookieclicker-perfectidling.png Perfect idling Debug
7 cookies
You keep producing cookies even while the game is closed.
"It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."
This causes the player's cookie production to continue while the game is closed. Unlike the heavenly upgrades that affect the player's closed-game production, this upgrade causes their production to continue at the same rate indefinitely. 124
Cookieclicker-wrinklerdoormat.png Wrinkler doormat Debug
7 cookies
Wrinklers spawn much more frequently.
"You're such a pushover."
This causes Wrinklers to spawn in any open slots on the cookie the moment they become available. 142
Cookieclicker-reindeerseason.png Reindeer season Debug
7 cookies
Reindeer spawn much more frequently.
"Go, Cheater! Go, Hacker and Faker!"
Similar to Gold hoard, this causes a reindeer to spawn the moment after the previous reindeer disappears, either by being clicked on or by despawning. 167
Cookieclicker-eternalseasons.png Eternal seasons Debug
7 cookies
Seasons now last forever.
"Season to taste."
This causes all seasonal events to last indefinitely. When the current season is switched, the previous one ends, and the new one will also last indefinitely. 186
Cookieclicker-magicshenanigans.png Magic shenanigans Debug
7 cookies
Cookie production multiplied by 1,000.
"It's magic. I ain't gotta explain shCookieClickerMoney.pngt."
This multiplies the player's CpS (cookies per second) by 1,000. This multiplier is applied after every other CpS calculation is made. 208
Cookieclicker-occultobstruction.png Occult obstruction Debug
7 cookies
Cookie production reduced to 0.
"If symptoms persist, consult a doctor."
This sets the player's CpS (cookies per second) to 0. This multiplier is applied after every other CpS calculation is made. 398
Cookieclicker-glucosechargedair.png Glucose-charged air Debug
7 cookies
Sugar lumps coalesce a whole lot faster.
"Don't breathe too much or you'll get diabetes!"
This divides the time needed for sugar lumps to mature, ripen, and fall by 2,000. This is applied after all other effects reducing sugar lump coalescence time. 399
Cookieclicker-turbochargedsoil.png Turbo-charged soil Debug
7 cookies
Garden plants grow every second.
Garden seeds are free to plant.
You can switch soils at any time.
"It's got what plants crave!"
This sets the garden tick time to one second regardless of the soil's tick time, sets all garden seed costs to 0, and removes the 15-minute cooldown on switching soils. 459
Cookieclicker-reallygoodguidebook.png A really good guide book Debug
7 cookies
All dungeon locations behave as if unlocked.
You may shift-click a dungeon location to teleport there.
"It even tells you which hotels to avoid!"
Currently has no effect in-game. The line of code that includes the upgrade's description and quote are commented out; in-game, its description is "???" and its quote is "??????". This is likely because dungeons have not been implemented in the current version of Cookie Clicker. 644

Removed Upgrades

Prior to the release of the legacy update (version 2.0), there were some unused upgrades intended to allow the user to customize the flavor of milk to display, as well as the background. All of the upgrades were commented out, accompanied with the comment //I really should release these someday. None of these were coded to do anything, and some of them were missing their graphics. The final release of the legacy update included an upgrade that allows the user to change the milk on display, as well as the previously-shown upgrade for changing backgrounds. Those appear to be replacements for these upgrades, since these were removed in the same update.

Icon Name Type Cost Description Notes ID
Cookieclicker-plainmilk.png Plain milk
Normal
120,000,000,000 (120 billion) cookies
Unlocks plain milk, available in the menu.
This likely would have added the choice of plain milk to the options menu, but it was not programmed to do anything once purchased. 119?

Normal
120,000,000,000 (120 billion) cookies
Unlocks orange juice, available in the menu.
This likely would have added the choice of orange milk (now known as orange juice) to the options menu, but it was not programmed to do anything once purchased. The icon space it would have loaded was blank, though an icon for orange milk did not exist at the time. 122?
Cookieclicker-lockedachievement.png
Ain't got milk
Normal
120,000,000,000 (120 billion) cookies
Unlocks no milk please, available in the menu.
This likely would have added the choice of "no milk please" to the options menu, but it was not programmed to do anything once purchased. This upgrade seems redundant, since an option for disabling milk was already in the game. 123?
Cookieclicker-bluebackground.png Cookieclicker-punctuation.png Blue background
Normal
120,000,000,000 (120 billion) cookies

Unused Achievements

These achievements either cannot be obtained legitimately, or were obtainable in a previous version.

Icon Name Type Description Notes ID
Cookieclicker-cheatedcookie.png Cheated cookies taste awful Shadow
Hack in some cookies.
This can be obtained either by modifying your current baked cookies to be higher than your cookies baked all-time, modifying the interval counter for spawning golden/wrath cookies or reindeer, or by entering debug mode.
70
Cookieclicker-thirdparty.png Third-party Shadow
Use an add-on.
"Some find vanilla to be the most boring flavor."
This achievement is not programmed to be obtainable in any way by the game. Next to the code is a comment encouraging mod creators to add a way of unlocking it in their add-ons, as the game cannot detect them by itself.

//if you're making a mod, add a Game.Win('Third-party') somewhere in there!

Dungeon Achievements

These achievements were obtainable normally when dungeons were still in the game. They still exist in the game's code and can be unlocked by cheating. This is likely for the sake of backwards-compatibility with older versions. They appear under their own sub-heading in the achievement list.

Icon Name Type Description Notes Enemy ID
Cookieclicker-ovenpod.png Getting even with the oven
Normal
Defeat the Sentient Furnace in the factory dungeons.
This achievement was obtainable by finding and defeating a boss enemy known as the Sentient Furnace.

Normal
Defeat the Ascended Baking Pod in the factory dungeons.

97
Cookieclicker-chirpedout.png Chirped out
Normal (formerly Shadow)
Find and defeat Chirpy, the dysfunctioning alarm bot.
This achievement was obtainable by finding and defeating a rare enemy named "Chirpy".

This was classified as a shadow achievement before being put under the separate dungeon heading in the stats screen.

Cookieclicker-chirpy.png
98
Cookieclicker-whiterabbit.png Follow the white rabbit
Normal (formerly Shadow)
Find and defeat the elusive sugar bunny.
This achievement was obtainable by finding and defeating a very rare enemy known as the sugar bunny.

This was classified as a shadow achievement before being put under the separate dungeon heading in the stats screen.

Strangely, this is one of only three icons that ever used a shiny orange color palette, one of which was removed.

Removed Achievements

These achievements were removed from the game at some point.

Icon Name Type Description Notes ID
N/A
Galactus' reprimand
N/A (probably normal)
Reset your game with 1 quintillion coo- okay no I'm yanking your chain
This was never coded with a method of achieving it, though it was described to be obtainable by ascending with 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (1 quintillion) cookies. 97?

This achievement was commented out in the source code, before being removed from the code entirely. The code for this achievement was incomplete, cutting off before setting the flavor text quote, icon, or type. It is unknown if this was ever meant to be used, since the achievement Dematerialize, added in the Easter update, has the same unlock requirements.
