This is a sub-page of Proto:Frogger (1997).
This prototype is documented on Hidden Palace.
An early build of the PlayStation version of Frogger built on April 28th, 1997, identified with the text "Frogger Sony Build" written on it, and is surprisingly playable for a build which is only 2 weeks and 3 days after the start of a from-scratch recode.

General Notes
- This build was created for a presentation to Sony, who was in talks to (and eventually did) acquire the development studio developing the game: Millenium Interactive. It is not clear if this demo was part of the acquisition process or if this was for other purposes.
- This is potentially the first build burned to CD after the recode started.
- The animation export pipeline did not support multiple animations per 3D model, so there is only one animation per 3D model. In the case of Frogger, animations such as upon death or upon collecting a checkpoint will simply rotate the model.
- The 3D models appear to have been exported incorrectly, as their textures do not seem to display as intended.
- It does not seem to be possible to superhop or rotate the camera.
- There is no way to win or lose. The player has infinite lives, and collecting checkpoints do not make them disappear, or allow for anything resembling the completion of the level. There is only one level included in the game files, so this makes sense.
- The only included map file is named RUSHED.MAP, seemingly because the map was created and prepared in a hurry.
Bootup
Camera Start Position | Frogger Start Position |

- When the game starts, it will load directly into Peli's Island, with an initial camera position a decent distance away from Frogger's location.
Music Differences
- The only music track included is the song which plays for Retro Level 1 in the final game.
Debug Features
Pressing △ will toggle entity collision, allowing Frogger to not die when touching vehicles. The void will be colored red when this cheat is enabled. Occasionally the message `Help!!!!!` will be printed to the console.

Gameplay of the single level that makes up this build, which also shows a boundary glitch and a weird prototype version of the freefall
