Story - Ancient Tower

Zeon is defeated. His body destroyed, the portal he popped out of begins to close, stopping just short of closing entirely. That's ominous.

April Script Where am I...? What's going on? I...can't...sit up...

Final Script Where am I? What's going on? I...can't...sit up.

April Script [Lemon]...is that you? Tell me, [Lemon]. What happened?

Lemon kneels before his former king.

April Script Ah...I can't see very well. Am I dying? I don't want to die? [Lemon], tell me why.

Elis wakes up again to tell King Galam he was possessed by a devil.

April Script A devil...I don't understand. Are you...Elis? The princess of Granseal?

April Script Yes, I am.

Final Script Yes.

April Script I have not seen you for a time. Let me see your face.

Princess Elis kneels down...when suddenly King Galam grabs her arms from behind! He walks towards the half-open portal...

April Script What are you doing? King Galam! How can you stand up!

Final Script What are you doing? King Galam! You're standing?!

April Script It's not Galam!

Final Script I'm not Galam, you fools!

Elis starts freaking out as Lemon confusedly wonders if Zeon actually died.

April Script I live! Ha, ha! You don't know anything about me!

Final Script Never! You don't know anything about me!

As Mitula stated earlier and Zeon is about to reiterate, he can't be killed by the sword alone.

April Script Yes...Mitula told us to weaken him! I should have remember that before Elis was captured!

Lemon approaches Zeon before he's reminded about the whole hostage situation.

April Script What a scoundrel! We have to save her!

Final Script Scoundrel! We have to save her!

April Script [Hero] and birdboy! Come here!

Final Script [Hero]! Phoenix! Come here!

Peter and Bowie face each other.

April Script Well, [Hero]... what should we do?

Final Script Well, [Hero]. What should we do?

April Script Quick! My time is short, but still I can choke her! Get over her now!

Final Script Quickly! My time is short, but I can still choke her! Get over here, NOW!

Realizing they have no real choice, they agree.

April Script Now, phoenix. Take the evil jewel from [Hero]!

Final Script Now, phoenix. Take the Jewel of Evil from [Hero]!

April Script But, we can't remove it from [Hero].

Final Script But, we can't remove it.

Zeon tells them to shut up and do it.

April Script But....

April Script [Peter] tugs at jewel.

April Script I tried...I'm sorry.

Final Script Nope. Let me try this.

April Script [Peter] removed the jewel from [Hero] neck.

Zeon orders Peter to put the jewel in front of him. Peter complies.

April Script We have to stop him! How? Mitula, and Volcanon, tell me!

April Script Ha, ha! Astral! I've revived fully in a few minutes.

Zeon has no further use for Elis...

Peter and Astral try to stop Zeon, but get slapped across the room. Bowie retaliates by slapping the jewel out of his hand. Zeon knocks Bowie out as a rejoinder.

April Script Don't bother me!

Final Script That's what you get!

Suddenly, a holy mote of light emerges from Bowie's body, dowsing Lemon's flaming body.

April Script King Galam... Please stop...

Zeon isn't happy with where this is going.

April Script I'll go, but I'll take you to another dimension.

Zeon doesn't like that. He doesn't like that at all. Lemon's on fire again...briefly, since another mote of light puts him out.

April Script How? It's not possible. How can you still life after you burned in my fire? Oh...my power fading. Where's the jewel!?

Final Script How? It's not possible! You can't still be alive! Oh, my powers are fading. Where's the jewel?!

April Script My King...now...go with me....

Final Script My King...come with me....

Lemon grabs Zeon/King Galam from behind.

April Script No, I'll never go back to...such a terrible....

Lemon drags Zeon back to the portal.

April Script I shall return! Remember! I'll be back!

Final Script I shall return! Remember!

Lemon and Zeon walk back into the portal and fall into the abyss.

April Script Noooooooooo....

At last, the portal closes completely.

April Script [Lemon] has gone with Zeon.

Final Script [Lemon] has taken Zeon away.

April Script Thanks to him...everything is over. But, what a tragic ending.

The two walk over to Bowie, telling him about Lemon's sacrifice. Then they check on the princess...

April Script The princess does not respond.

Final Script Elis does not respond.

April Script She's so cold and looks so pale.

April Script Sir Astral, is she already dead?

Final Script Sir Astral, is she dead?

April Script Astral examines the princess.

April Script Yes, she is cold, but she's breathing. Hmmm...what happened?

Mitula appears to inform them that Princess Elis is in a coma.

Peter wonders who "we" is.

She takes the Jewel of Light from Bowie's neck.

April Script And need the Jewel of Evil.

Final Script And I need the Jewel of Evil.

She takes the Jewel of Evil off the ground. Mitula tells the force to leave, since she's going to seal Zeon and destroy Arc Valley.

April Script How can we wake Elis up?

Final Script How do we wake Elis up?

April Script She has been poisoned. When the poison has left her body she will awaken.

Final Script She has been poisoned. When the poison leaves her body, her face will turn pink.

Translation Notes
Astral's line in the prototype was probably meant for Mitula.
Rather than change the dialogue pic, SoA wrote a new line for Astral.

April Script Her face will turn pink when the poison is gone.

Final Script Then she will awaken?

If she doesn't wake up, she'll need a kiss from her true love. That's narratively convenient.

April Script When will the poison leave her body?

Final Script When will the poison leave?

She shakes her head.

April Script It may take a few months... or a few years... It's time to go. Good luck.

She teleports out.

April Script Sir Astral, c'mon! Mitula said, this tower will be destroyed.

Final Script Sir Astral, c'mon! Mitula told us to leave.

Bowie picks Elis back up as the tower begins to shake wildly for like the fourth time so far.

April Script Oops! She's sealing up the tower!

The force runs out of the world's worst tower.

April Script Two years have passed since [Hero] sealed away Zeon.

Final Script Two years have passed since Mitula resealed Zeon.

April Script Wow, is it true? Did Elis wake up?

Area Dialogue - Granseal

Bowie wakes up in his old bedroom in the old Granseal. Oh my gods it was all a dream!!!

......not really, though. Let's walk around the town, ask the people there what's up.

April Script [Hero], hey, did you hear? The princess' face turned pink!

Final Script [Hero], did you hear? The Princess' face turned pink!

April Script Ah, [Hero]! I'm surprised!

Final Script Ah, [Hero]! I'm so happy!

April Script [Hero]...you... will...kiss...her... I don't like you any more. ...(sigh)...

April Script Galam is now making a statue of [Lemon] as a memorial.

Astral's here too. So's the castle, and that's younger and more structurally sound, so Bowie heads there first.

Oh, it's the last bit of NPC dialogue. How you doing, drones?

April Script Oh, is it time? It's you, [Hero]! Let me sleep.

Final Script Is it time to stand guard? Oh, it's you, [Hero]! Let me sleep.

Story - Granseal

Back in Astral's school, Bowie talks to what's-his-face.

April Script Are you ready to go to the castle of Granseal?

Story - Granseal Castle

The force arrives at the throne room.

Astral faces the crowd.

April Script OK, listen to me. I want to talk about Princess Elis. It took two years, but finally she recovered from the poison. But she's still sleeping. We've now decided to try Mitula's advice.

April Script Mitula's...you mean, somebody gets to kiss her?

Kazin exits the castle.

April Script Ho, ho! They remind me of my youth...

April Script Shut up, you stupid robot!

Final Script Be quiet, you bucket of bolts!

Luke flies over to Astral.

April Script You heard everybody, Sir? Everybody thinks [Hero] is the right choice.

Final Script You heard everyone. We think [Hero] is the right choice.

Luke wonders if everything went as Astral expected.

April Script You knew that? [Luke], you're right. I chose [Hero]. But I didn't know what [Sarah] and [Jaha] would didn't want to hurt their feelings. Astral, you're kind.

Final Script You knew that? [Luke], you're smart. But I didn't know what [Sarah] or [Jaha] would do. I didn 't want to hurt their feelings. [Hero], I choose you.

April Script The minister is waiting for [Hero].

Final Script The Minister is waiting for you.

The former force members give their final lines of dialogue.

April Script OK, go upstairs... I'll find my girl someday!

Final Script It's OK... I'll find a girl someday!

April Script You were so cool in the adventure two years ago, [Hero]!

Final Script You were so cool in our adventure two years ago!

April Script He was young... before...hmmm...

Final Script He was young before?

April Script [Hero], go wake her up!

Final Script [Hero], go kiss her!

Bowie makes his way to the Princess' chamber, where the minister awaits. He gives Bowie his blessing to wed Princess Elis.

April Script [Hero]...please make her happy...

Final Script [Hero], please kiss her.

And so, Bowie makes his way to the Princess' bedside. This is it.

April Script The princess is here. Will you kiss her?

Final Script The Princess is asleep. Will you kiss her?

Well, duh.

Epilogue

Bowie exits to the King's bedchambers, where the King, Astral, and the minister await. After a beat, he goes back upstairs and returns with Princess Elis. The King, the Princess, the minster, and Bowie exchange a few words, then Bowie's friends join him in the room.

Cut back to the witch's forest.

April Script Finally you've fulfilled my wish! Thanks for [Hero], I can escape from this forest! Are you really that surprised?

Final Script Finally, you've fulfilled my wish! Thanks to you, I can escape from this forest! Are you really that surprised?

The witch transforms into Mitula, with the Jewels of Evil and Light around her neck.

Mitula doesn't thank the player in the final draft. Wah.

April Script I truly thank you. [Hero] enabled me to return to my original self. Someday... We'll meet [Hero]. I'll never forget you...

The jewels fall to the ground...

Or is it?!

Time for an all-out brawl in the Magic Tunnel ruins. Zeon's there, the greater devils are there, Red Bal/ron is there, Prism Flowers, that King chess piece, even the pushover-at-this-point Dark Smoke! Through a prolonged battle Bowie and the force slaughter them all and get their great reward:

April Script You win!

Final Script Game over!

And then the universe and everyone in it ceased to exist.
