Unused area in Titanic Monarch act. 2

I'm sure the area is unused. In the time attack the end of the act is another. Please, undo the removal of my edition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkUhbQUwey0 --Porcino (talk) 17:56, 30 August 2017 (EDT)

I'm not sure what you're talking about, because that is exactly the area the final warp takes you to in Time Attack.犬夜叉(Inuyasha) 18:25, 30 August 2017 (EDT)
You're right, I had to go through this damn zone again.
Only the checkpoint and a capsule are not in Time Attack. --Porcino (talk) 18:38, 30 August 2017 (EDT)
I think that it's just that Time Attack is programmed to remove checkpoints, and replace capsules with the goal-thingy. (Or something like that.) But in that case, the existence of the checkpoint would be interesting. --Yellow180 (talk) 07:04, 7 September 2017 (EDT)

Press Garden Early Name

Going into the game's files shows that the .ogg files for Press Garden's music are named PulpSolstice1.ogg and PulpSolstice2.ogg, which shows that Pulp Solstice may have been the stage's original name (i had to google what solstice meant, and it seems to check out). Is this worth mentioning on the page? This is the first time I've contributed at all so I'm not entirely sure. (edit: the SFX folder containing Press Garden's Sound Effects is named PSZ, thus being further evidence) --Panfex (talk) 10:48, 31 August 2017 (EDT)

Full Mean Bean Machine Sprites

There are full sprites of the characters and Eggman for the Chemical Plant Zone 2 boss. Where would these be added? --Surgesufers (talk) 12:08, 31 August 2017 (EDT)

Objects-Classic files

In all (except for Hydrocity, oddly) Classic/Remixed stages, there are "Objects-Classic" files for assets of the zones in their original games. Would this warrant its own section?

Tails Chemical Plant Cutscene Sprites

Tails has a completely unused Sprite Sheet for the Cutscene at the beginning of Chemical Plant Zone, might be worth uploading a GIF of the sprite assembled into the animation. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/352018723055599616/352846586956611595/TailsCutsceneCPZ_Animated.gif --- Knuxfan24 (talk) 19:23, 31 August 2017 (EDT)

Sega Saturn controllers

In #retro, Cooljerk said the white Sega Saturn controller is used if you plug in a standard HID controller (i.e. not a proprietary XInput device) on the Windows version. The black one might be used for the second player. ---GerbilSoft (talk) 21:24, 31 August 2017 (EDT)

Thank you : ) I hadn't thought of that possibility.--Porcino (talk) 21:28, 31 August 2017 (EDT)

Unused/Scrapped animation.

The leaked animation from Tyson Hesse twitter is not seen anywhere in the game, though, it is kinda similar to the opening animation scene when Sonic is fighting one of the Hard Boiled Heavies in Studiopolis. This should be added in Sonic Mania page?

https://media.giphy.com/media/3ohhwDJAAeYwPh1NYc/giphy.gif

That would go on the Prerelease page, not so much the main page. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 01:52, 2 September 2017 (EDT)

Data Folder Mode

If you extract the contents of Data.rsdk and remove it from the root folder and only leave the extracted Data folder remaining the game will attempt to load files from that folder instead of from Data.rsdk. Some graphics wont display correctly and the unused Dev Menu is enabled by default. The window name is also changed to "Sonic Mania (Data Folder). Is this worth adding to the main page? --GANONdork123 (talk) 01:48, 4 September 2017 (EDT)

Many games can use uncompressed files in the main folder and work normally, I think it's very generic information. --Porcino (talk) 12:31, 4 September 2017 (EDT)
I already added it to the Retro Engine dev menu section, but I hadn't described what you said to do correctly. I dunno if this happened with you, but from my experience, this makes 2D stages unplayable, since S/T/K can't move left or right, and jumping puts them in a single jump frame, but they don't leave the ground. I'll add the rest of what you said to that part. --Pyrolex (talk) 14:49, 21 September 2017 (EDT)
That's probably because you used Retrun-Sonic instead of rsdkv5_extract, as the former doesn't extract the files in the Objects/Static folder, due to rsdkv5_extract having a separate list with names of the static object files which Retrun-Sonic doesn't use. MainMemory (talk) yesterday idk
What? I did use RSDK5_Extract. I didn't even know Retrun existed until after I tested RSDK5_ext. Maybe I used an older version? That's probably it. --Pyrolex (talk) 13:35, 22 September 2017 (EDT)
Huh, strange. Either way, the missing graphics and broken physics are entirely the result of the static object files missing from the extracted folder, which I don't believe is within TCRF's scope to document. Also oops, forgot to sign my earlier comment. MainMemory (talk) 14:10, 22 September 2017 (EDT)

About the CPZ2 bounce goo

I'm not entirely sure the naming of the goo as "ChemRed" and "ChemYellow" is incorrect. "ChemRed" corresponds to the green goo, that bounces you very high, while "ChemYellow" corresponds to the cyan goo that bounces you only a little bit. This corresponds to the red springs and yellow springs, which in Classic Sonic have always traditionally sprung you high or low respectively. The filenames for the goo sounds may have been named oddly to associate with the equivalent spring's colors, rather than than to the actual color of the goo. Or, perhaps more simply, the goo was originally colored red or yellow like the springs. Either way I think it's worth mentioning. Nerdbot (talk) 21:30, 4 September 2017 (EDT)

re: SSZ1 teleporter sprite

While playing through the game as Tails I incidentally discovered that he's capable of flying over the miniboss area and into the cutscene area. Seeing as this means the teleporter can be destroyed in normal, non-Debug mode gameplay, should the section about it stay, or should a reference be added to note how Tails can access it? Makiri (talk) 02:10, 6 September 2017 (EDT)

Hedgehog Day Dance Party's scrapped "grinding" animation

At 0:27 in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGCvoOcqg40), there's some sort of removed "grind" animation Sonic's doing. It's not there in any releases of the final game. Could this mean this was scrapped? --See you on Scratch or something! -PacManfan64 (talk) 21:15, 30 December 2017 (EST)

Unused sprites?

http://i.imgur.com/xSIxYvw.gif I can't seem to trigger any of the sprites past the first column when the crew is ice cubed. Has anyone seen these eye movements in action? --Sonicandtails (talk) 01:04, 9 September 2017 (EDT)

It's unused, I couldn't get the animation to trigger even if Sonic was an ice cube for 5 minutes. --TrustyGun (talk) 13:09, 10 September 2017 (EDT)

Level editor in action

Not much really, I was just watching this video by FruitCake https://youtu.be/mgbd7_-Ro3Q and noticed at the 1:18 mark the level editor is shown, as well as a debug icon. Again, not a huge discovery, but still. --Just a memer. (talk)

Unused Mini Tails Lift sprites?

So I was on The Spriters Recourse and I found unused Fly Lift and Fly Lift Tired sprites for Mini Tails and I saw that they were not on TCRF so I wondered if you could add them. here is a link to the sprites. https://www.spriters-resource.com/fullview/95305/

P.S. The sprites are at the bottom, just before the Blue Spheres sprites. --TheSonicFan2015 (talk) 19:36, 18 September 2017 (EDT)

Pulp Solstice?

I saw that someone added an unused sprite for the TV in studiopoplis zone, and I was wondering weather that was what was seen in sonic discovery at the end of act 2. I also thought that that was pulp solstice zone and that maybe PSZ was replaced with PGZ because of controversy with the eye of Providence. -I don't have a homepage, just talk with me. SonicR

diffes of the chinese translation

The first translation string, in the early, it had a misspell of "統" to "總", in the final, it is be fixed.
Secohd (sorry im misspelled) string, in the final, it had a "—" added in after the "索尼克技能" text appears.
The there, in the final, like above, it had a "—" added in after the "索尼克技能" text appears.
The four, in the final, "沒門兒" is changed to "天吶" ("oh my god").
The 5, in the early, it had a misspell of "螢" to "熒", in the final, it is be fixed.
The final string came! In the final, it added "正" in the start.-- wenyuan233336

Heavy Gunners Rockets

I dont think that the bullets would be paired together. I think that everything was the same, but instead the Intact Rocket sprite would be used normaly and the Busted Rocket sprite would be used when you hit it. -TheKidCode

About Plus...

When it's released, should it be included here as an update, or a new article? --See you on Scratch or something! -PacManfan64 (talk) 20:32, 16 March 2018 (EDT)

PS4 accidental update.

Mania has just been updated for the PS4, should we document the changes here or should we wait a while? - Chillius

We can either add documents about it or wait for Sonic Mania Plus release. Personally, I think we should add it. - Trimint123

Unused Encore Mode

In Sonic Mania Plus, instead of encore mode, it was gonna be a vaperwave mode. This unused vaperwave mode is just the encore palletes and layouts and slowed down, lower pitched music. It was added back into the game by "CodenameGamma" on YouTube. When the music fades out, it get's it's normal pitch back and goes the normal speed for half a second. This goes on for every single zone in the game. This was the beta encore mode. However, Chemical Plant Zone uses its mania mode pallete. The music effect even applies to the 1-up jingle, the act clear music and the boss themes. Strange, isn't it?

I've moved this here from the main page, as it doesn't explain what was actually found/how to activate it. And the cheat to activate it is behind a paywall. --Hiccup (talk) 19:01, 25 May 2020 (UTC)

Unused Speed Gate Object

There is an object called "SpeedGate." It's in all object list in every stage. It seems unfinished as nothing works with it only the timer, filter, and the finish line for the timer. There are more configs for SpeedGate but don't work, these are: "Prize, ID, and Direction." Many unused sprites within the unused object don't work. Sprites are in Data\Global\Objects.gif and the bin file is called, "SpeedGate.bin". Ingame it uses the Checkpoint sound for crossing both the Start Gate and Finish Gate.

Unused titanic monarch act 1 - act 2 transition

If you use debug mode to go off screen to the right of the act 1 boss, there’s an unused hall leading to a layer 2 hole in the wall. A similar hole can be found without using debug behind the start of act 2. This could be an unused level transition.

Area to the right of the act 1 boss

Behind act 2 start area

PS4 Update mention?

Should the accidental PS4 update be mentioned on Proto: since it's basically a prerelease version of the transition from normal to Plus? Has this update been even dumped at all? --Trash Bandatcoot (talk) 19:06, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
