One of the most popular 8-bit microcomputers of its time, the Apple II (stylized as "apple ][" and, later on, "apple //") was designed with games in mind - legendary designer and ur-nerd Steve Wozniak applied the lessons learned from creating Breakout for Atari to create an easy-to-program, easy-to-expand consumer PC that set Apple on the path to colossal success.
