The 2013 Colin McRae Rally is a remaster of Colin McRae Rally 2.0, developed in Unity. It was intended to remake the whole game over time, but after poor critical reception, the first version was the only one to release.

Unused Textures

ALSLigFt, an unused light texture, suggests that the Lancia Stratos, which had its livery changed to an original livery in the final game, was originally going to use the Alitalia livery.

Every used car in the final game has its original textures from 2.0 copied over as reference; however, both the Subaru Impreza and the Ford Focus each have a distinct change with the source file.

Unused Audio

Three unused audio files that start with the vehicle name "Cosworth", suggesting that either the Escort Cosworth or the Sierra Cosworth were cut vehicles during development. However, due to its presence in text strings, it's likely that this audio is referring to the Sierra Cosworth specifically, which also makes sense considering that the Sierra appeared in 2.0 but the Escort didn't.

town_sweden.wav, which suggests that Sweden was briefly in the works but never ended up being finished. (WARNING: EXTREMELY LOUD!)

Unused Text Files

The game uses text files to hold sections of its code, including specific info on cars, tracks, championships, etc. One file named OtherStats.csv.csv suggests that originally the game would have used a money system rather than just unlocking the cars after winning specific championships.

On top of that, a car named "Mini" is referenced in this text file, suggesting that the Mini Cooper S alongside the Sierra Cosworth was cut from the game before it was finished. This also adds up considering that the Mini Cooper S also appeared in Colin McRae Rally 2.0.
