This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Look through audio and document anything not used.
  • Record footage of and add the unused Spade boss and unused boss phases for Gnawsa Lock and Nerve Rail.

Freedom Planet 2 is the long awaited sequel to Freedom Planet, taking almost 7 years from announcement to release.

Unused Graphics

NPCs

Pangu

A front facing sprite of Pangu. While there is a front facing Pangu sprite in the final boss, it is a different sprite.
The unused sprite has different shading and is higher resolution to what is used.

Cordelia

Numerous chat icons exist for Cordelia that are not used in the final game. The only time a chat icon for her is used is in the alternate ending, in which none of these are used for.

Hmmm...
To do:
Turn the sprites into GIFs.

In the GalaxyTrail exhibit of the Gallery, Ube is static with only one frame, however they have two animations for jumping and talking.

Enemies

Tiks

A pair of sprites that show different emotions on Tiks. In-game they only use the normal sprite when flying around.

Alternate versions of all of these sprites exist for the recolor.

Astral Golmech

A very early design for the Astral Golmech boss.

Merga

Merga has an unused frame for one of her air attack animations in phase 2 of her boss fight. Sprites also exist for Merga's Eclipse form having numerous unused parts as well as other parts for Supermoon form.
There is also an animation for the Flowers that circle around her in her Lilith form, in-game they are static and use one frame.

Green Line Cutter parts

The green Line Cutter seen in the Gallery uses the normal parts when destroyed, leaving these sprites unused.

Orange Keon parts

The orange Keon seen in the Gallery uses the normal helmet part when destroyed and the helmetless body sprite for the Keon only appears in one cutscene, leaving them both unused.

Combined enemy and boss sprites

There are multiple sprites that are compiled versions of earlier versions of certain enemies bosses. The most notable difference with the compiled ones is with the shading.
