SPC7110 Check Program

Like Tengai Makyou Zero and Momotarou Dentetsu Happy, this game makes use of the SPC7110 co-processor. A test program for it is loaded on boot if the internal battery dies or the SRAM gets corrupted and it's a later version than the one in Tengai Makyou Zero, being v3.0 instead of v2.2.

As it has only a few differences from the precedent version, this section illustrates the new version as a comparison against the old one:

Mode 1

Prompt

v2.2 v3.0

The prompt is written in English in this new version. That PUSH A BUTTON prompt is confusing as only pressing the A button makes the first test battery start. Also, this mode is loaded even if only a single byte of the SPC7110 CHECK OK string was altered in some way (but not all are equal to 0x11 like in the precedent version).

On Test

v2.2 v3.0

The RTC TIME test is absent in this version, as this game doesn't use any kind of RTC.

Pass

v2.2 v3.0
Tengai Makyou Zero-TestMode1-Pass.png Momotarou Dentetsu Happy & Super Power League 4-TestMode1-Pass.png

Unlike the older version, in v3.0 everything is written in English with the same font.

Fail

v2.2 v3.0
Tengai Makyou Zero-TestMode1-Fail.png Momotarou Dentetsu Happy & Super Power League 4-TestMode1-Fail.png

Behaves in the same way of v2.2.

Mode 2

Prompt

v2.2 v3.0
Tengai Makyou Zero-TestMode2-Prompt.png Momotarou Dentetsu Happy & Super Power League 4-TestMode2-Prompt.png

Again, the prompt is written in English in this version.

On Test

v2.2 v3.0
Tengai Makyou Zero-TestMode2-OnTest.png Momotarou Dentetsu Happy & Super Power League 4-TestMode2-OnTest.png

No RTC BACKUP test is performed, for the same reason explained above about the RTC TIME one.

Pass

v2.2 v3.0
Tengai Makyou Zero-TestMode2-Pass.png Momotarou Dentetsu Happy & Super Power League 4-TestMode2-Pass.png

ALL OK is written with the same font of all the other text, like what happens in this case on the precedent test.

Fail

v2.2 v3.0
Tengai Makyou Zero-TestMode2-Fail.png Momotarou Dentetsu Happy & Super Power League 4-TestMode2-Fail.png

Also in this case, it behaves in the same way of the precedent version.

Oddity

The oddity found in the precedent version of the test program is still present.
