US E-Reader room

Was looking around Project Pokémon when I happened to stumble onto this thread: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?21561-Pokemon-Colosseum-Beta-Unreleased-Room Anyone here who could try this out (as I sadly don't have an e-Reader nor have one ready available)? It also includes a video, but unfortunately it has been made private for whatever reason. --Ds22 09:32, 2 November 2012 (EDT)

I didn't view the link, but I was able to get into the aforementioned room. Using a Japanese E-Reader +, The officially released cards, and cheating to bypass the locked door of the e-Reader Room, I got it to work. Once you get past that locked door, everything works perfectly. Only a few bits of text and menu options are still untranslated. The NTSC communicates with the e-Reader + perfectly. The application downloaded from the game disk is still Japanese, however. All Japanese cards are recognized, even the promotional cards. I'm using an NTSC game and console. Here's the full thing. https://youtu.be/JFPxwo2uw_8 I'm also going to do a video regarding the NTSC Celebi content on the disk, I'll post that when it's done. - Dave10772 (talk) 17:21, 1 November 2015 (EST)

Colosseum Bonus Disc

Would this have its own page? Along with someone else, I found a pretty awesome beta thing in the bonus disc, but I'm not sure where to put it or how to create the bonus disc page if necessary. --Bond697 02:44, 5 January 2013 (EST)

I think each would get a separate page. There's two totally different bonus discs. US provides Jirachi, Japan provides Celebi. Theclaw 02:53, 5 January 2013 (EST)

Eagun "cutscene battle" question

I'm watching a Let's Play of this game, and during the aforementioned Pikachu vs. Hitmontop battle the uploader states that Pikachu will sometimes get a critical hit on Hitmontop, but has never seen the latter's health go below half.

As it's a battle that Eagun is supposed to lose in order for the story to continue, what happens if he manages to win? Granted, it's probably not worth putting on the site, but I'm curious about how the game handles Hitmontop's HP going to 0 in that battle. Thanks in advance. :) -WarioBarker 22:05, 1 July 2013 (EDT)

Well, while I certainly haven't hacked the game to find out, I can make an educated guess that the game might continue normally despite the outcome, still acting as if Eagun lost, as a sort of failsafe.
However, if there is some sort of strange unused script for Eagun winning, it'd be just that: unused, and therefore fit to be put into the article. --AquaBat 22:17, 1 July 2013 (EDT)

debug_menu.fsys

I'm not sure if it's been looked into, but on the ISO image a file exists called debug_menu of all things. A similar file, although not identical to the one in Colosseum, appears in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, perhaps can these both be loaded and see what these menus actually consist of? I'm not sure how to go about unpacking fsys files, or how to get this particular file running quite yet, although there is a large chunk of data headed by LZ77, so I'm sure it's just some simple compression that has already been RE'd and shouldn't take much to start looking at. --Team Fail (talk) 18:05, 5 August 2015 (EDT)

FireRed/LeafGreen Compatibility

Unsure where to put this even in the talk page, but the game actually has full FireRed/LeafGreen compatibility - you can send Pokemon to/from those games, use Pokemon from those games for the tournament mode and Mt Battle, and there are even 3D player models of the protagonist (both genders) from FR/LG. This goes along with the bonus disk theoretically having FR/LG support.

Colosseum may not have really advertised FR/LG support, but it's a standard feature available to all users. The American bonus disk, intentional or not, requires cheating for it.Theclaw (talk) 01:43, 14 November 2015 (EST)

Teleport

I was wondering whether this move has an actual animation programmed in, as it doesn't work in Trainer battles (which are the only kind in Colosseum, and also Battle Revolution; that means it's impossible to make it work in these games). Centaurio (talk) 07:02, 2 April 2016 (EDT)

JP Bonus Disc Connectivity test

I just got the JP bonus disc menus working on a modded Wii using the AR code listed on the main page that I converted into an Wiird/Ocarina Code to make usable on Wii hardware. As Far as compatibility with linking to GBA Pokemon games, I was successful in getting the Bonus disc to talk to 3 US Region Pokemon Carts, I tested trying to connect to the Poke coupon redemption menu(though none of the saves have any so I couldn't actually redeem anything so I still need to fully test that) and all three games connected and communicated with the Gamecube/Wii with no issues, I tested a US Sapphire cart (So presumably Ruby would work too but I don't own a copy), a US Fire-Red Cart which had the ability to link to the Hoenn games unlocked and it accepted it, though further testing is needed to see if it will reject files that don't have the feature unlocked. Surprisingly I also tested a copy of Pokemon Emerald that hasn't beaten the game and it also made a successful connection.

As far as receiving any gift Pokemon, I need to play the Colosseum story mode to progress to the point in which I unlock the ability to receive anything before I can test sending a Pokemon to a GBA game, but things are looking promising so far. DudeDuder (talk) 04:54, 10 August 2017 (EDT)

Solid Plant

Apparently if you send over a Pokémon with Frenzy Plant to Colosseum (FireRed/LeafGreen in which it was introduced for Venusaur was not released at the time), it's instead called Solid Plant, similar to the original Japanese name ハードプラント (Hard Plant). Would this fit Bugs:Pokémon Colosseum? And on that note, anyway; here is a bugs/flaws collection video by Salted Neos with facts which could be added there.
