Cut US Ending

Okay, I downloaded a SGM file that gladly crashes VBA upon loading, so I can't see the cut ending, or what remains. A few sources say the ending was cut from the US version and that the Super Game Boy border accompanying was also cut. I have found a method for accessing the border via Game Genie code ??3-7FA-E6E (00-0A). I could also have a screen set code to view the ending as a last resort, but finding out this way is much more fun. Also not interested in playing this terrible fishing game. -nensondubois 19:09, 18 August 2013 (EDT)

Where did you download that save? I have a save state for the last tournament and ending, but I don't think I've uploaded that save anywhere. I can give you the .sav though, which should load in the Japanese version. And there are codes on gamehacking.org that will allow you to easily beat the game and see that ending. I downloaded the .sgm files from Zophar.net. A .sav would be nice to make this quicker by long shot. Also have you been able to make the save for Monster Rancher Card GB game right before you obtain the amulet? That would be extremely helpful. I found the codes elsewhere at any rate. Thanks! -nensondubois 23:27, 18 August 2013 (EDT)

Oh, it was me who sent that save to zophar after all. Weird. And yes, the Jpn version has a much longer ending. No extra border though. How can I send you the .sav then? ReyVGM 23:41, 18 August 2013 (EDT)

A file transfer site? Hmm. A lot of Wikipedia's info on the SGB is severely outdated and inaccurate in general. I recall reading this on a few sites also which probably went with Wikipedia's stance. There are 10 borders in this game. If that's the case, I wonder if any of them are unused. -nensondubois 00:01, 19 August 2013 (EDT)

I found all 10 borders on the USA version. But that's because I played through the whole game. save here: http://d01.megashares.com/index.php?d01=wALqDN7 ReyVGM 00:19, 19 August 2013 (EDT)

That satisfies the curiosity. 10 SGB borders in a game is the highest number regardless adding minute support all around. Thanks for going through all the trouble! -nensondubois 00:36, 19 August 2013 (EDT)

Save File for Ending

If anyone wants to translate the cut Japanese ending, here's a save file: File:Super Black Bass Pocket 3 last tournament.zip Just enter the debug code, load the save, press Select+A to enter the Fish modifier menu. Select fish #1 and the maximum weight, then select the last option to apply the changes. Do this 3 times, and then go to the dock for the weigh-in. ReyVGM (talk) 22:38, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
