Wayne's World is an NES game based on the 1992 SNL spin-off movie, and a truly legendary one in its own right.

NOT.

Unused Graphics

WW NES HUD.png

A couple of unused HUD elements, an early lives icon (similar to the one seen in The Terminator), and a dollar sign.

WW NES Bird.png

It's a bird! With several frames, but no birds are seen in the game. Most likely meant for the second to last levels, which take place outside some condos.

WW NES Clouds.png

Some clouds. The only point in the game where the sky is visible is a section of the Gasworks, but no clouds are visible.

WaynesWorldNES-UnusedBenjaminSuitSprites.png

Benjamin takes off his suit whenever Wayne enters his room. However, since Benjamin is placed at least one screen away from Wayne when he enters, it is impossible for the player to see him do this since he is off-screen. To see this animation, enter Benjamin's room, then set RAM address $169b to 20. This will launch Wayne across the room at great speed, almost always reaching Benjamin as he takes his suit off (although it will glitch the background due to the fast scrolling).

These sprites were used and shown properly in the Game Boy version.

The HUD images of Wayne and Garth have more detail than what is shown; the game uses two identical colors to render a portion of the graphics invisible (with the exception of level transitions, when the idle version of the sprites can be seen for a split second). The other versions of the HUD character images are not viewable normally.

Level Skip

Pause the game and press A, B, A, Select. After being unpaused, the game will wait for commands: press A to return to the game, press B to skip to the next level.

Unused Text

A large amount of dialogue cut from the game, starting at 0xEBED. This appears to be from between finding Cassandra in stage 2 and the start of stage 5.

SHE'S A BABE !

I AM ABOUT TO ENTER A DREAM
THAT RELATES TO THE PLIGHT
OF ALL YOUNG MEN AND
WOMEN CHASING AFTER

THE THINGS THEY WANT IN
LIFE BUT DO NOT YET KNOW
HOW TO CATCH.

AND WHILE WE ARE BEING
PHILOSOPHICAL, I BELIEVE
WE SHOULD ALL LIVE LIFE
LIKE BUGS BUNNY.

WE SHOULD HAVE PLENTY OF
CARROTS, A HOLE IN THE
GROUND, A MAIL BOX WITH
OUR NAME WRITTEN ON IT,

AND THE FREEDOM TO
DISCOVER OUR OWN PERSONAL
ELMER FUDD.

AND WHEN WE FIND THAT FUDD,
WE SHOULD HAVE THE FREEDOM
TO BUG THE #*@# OUT OF HIM!

YOU MUST
HAVE SPOTTED THE BABE
CASSANDRA TO GET HERE.

SHE WILL BE MINE !
    OH YES !
SHE WILL BE MINE !

SHE HAS INVITED US TO A
RENT PARTY AT HER PLACE.
EXCELLENT.

REMEMBER MY DREAM ABOUT
GETTING PAID FOR THE SHOW?

WELL YOU WILL NEVER GUESS
WHAT HAPPENED TO GARTH AND
I. THIS GUY BENJAMIN, A
REAL SLICK TV PRODUCER,

WANTS TO PAY US TO DO OUR
SHOW OUT OF HIS CHICAGO
STUDIO !

YOU ARE PROBABLY THINKING
NO WAY !

WAY !
IT'S TRUE, WE SIGNED...
HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!

WHAT GARTH AND I DON'T
KNOW, BUT YOU SHOULD,
TO KEEP THE FLOW OF THE
GAME GOING, IS THAT HE IS

USING US AND OUR SHOW, AND
WILL TURN ON US ANY MINUTE!

NOW THAT YOU'RE ALL CAUGHT
UP LET'S GRAB SOME
CRUELLERS AND GO TO THE
RENT PARTY !

PARTY ON !
