So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
To do:
  • Inside the base game's \content\data\ui\wall_paper directory is a bunch of graphics from another game in it, figure out what game it is. Switch Toolbox can extract the contents.
  • There are earlier versions of the evil characters' sprites presumably used in an unpatched disc (Wizzro's sprite for example, was a 1:1 copy of the LoZ1 Wizzrobe sprite). These might make for an obvious revisionary difference on this page.

Hyrule Warriors is a Hack n' Slash adventure from the minds who brought you Dynasty Warriors and Super Mario Bros! ...Also featuring special guest star Link from the Legend of Zelda series.

Unused Graphics

Darunia's Ocarina of Time Face

Inside Darunia's main texture file is an upscaled, slightly edited version of his original face from Ocarina of Time. It may have been used for reference, as a placeholder, or just to take up space.

Ravio's Missing Face

At the end of A Link Between Worlds, Ravio removes his hood to reveal that he was actually Lorule's version of Link. In Hyrule Warriors he never removes his hood, and his face is heavily shrouded and blocked by the geometry of his mask. However, it seems that at one point he may have removed his mask entirely, or the player may have been teased with glances under his mask.

Inside Ravio's main texture file, there's unmapped textures for a lot more head than he actually has modeled. Including his eyes, mouth, tongue, ears, teeth, and what appears to be nostrils and ear holes. He also has an entire sizable space dedicated to the hair on top of his head. Sadly, most of the texture for his actual face was blacked out entirely or heavily shrouded (though a tiny sliver survived just above his ear).

On the model side, he has a full set of face bones, though they aren't rigged to anything. And the geometry for what face he has left has an opening in his lips for when he could still open his mouth and smile.

Placeholder Portraits

Located alongside the mugshots and portraits for the playable characters are a few that were originally going to be reserved for Tingle. The text covering Link's face translates to Chinkuru (Temporary).

Unused Sounds

Zelda Singing Zelda's Lullaby

Zelda's sound effects contain an interesting oddity: one unused sound is of her singing the tune of "Zelda's Lullaby".

This was likely a victory animation sound. Two things hint at this: One, the sound is located with Zelda's other victory animation sounds, and two, the length of the soundbyte itself is much longer than most attack voice effects.

A while back, you could use a glitch to trick the game into allowing you to wield Lana's Summoning Gate as Princess Zelda. Zelda would use this sound whenever she did an attack that involves Lana humming. The glitch has since been patched, rendering the sound unable to be heard in normal gameplay.
