Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth is a drastically reimagined version of the original Castlevania: The Adventure for the Game Boy.

Unused Graphics

Within the Medusa Head enemy's spritesheet there's an unused, much larger version of Medusa, it's unknown if it would have been a boss, mini-boss or just a regular enemy.

Test Maps

Three test maps have been located within the WiiWare WAD file.

testmap

testmap appears to be that of a simple, well, test map, with simple features such as platforms, power ups, and a few enemies and collisions. Also, take note of the word "TEST" in the background.

testmap2

testmap2 appears to be an enemy testing area. There is not much to note except for the doors and power ups found before the barrage of enemies beyond it.

testmap3

testmap3 is a very basic test map. From what can be gathered, it may very well be a hardware lag test with overlapping tiles and some enemies spawned on-screen. Other than that, the room feels spacious, but there is not much else to mention.

Oddities

Stage 3 appears to load a different version of the same map depending on which side it has been entered from, if the player enters from the lower path it will load "st3_trap", if the player enter from the upper path instead it load "st3_trap_dummy". The only difference between the two is that on "st3_trap_dummy" there's one extra Blood Skeleton and some of the candles drop less gold on the lower path (which the player can't access at all). This oversight doesn't even affect the enemy placement of the room when playing on Hard mode.
