Unused Graphics
A coin left over from the previous Castlevania Game Boy games. Not needed as there is no score in this game.
Unused Sound Test
The game contains an unused sound test, which can be accessed by entering the GameShark code 010B20C5 once you start a level.
Unused Music
Stored as sound 17, this is the exact same tune that plays when your character dies in Castlevania: The Adventure and Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge.
Titled "Continue", this one was going to be used on the game over screen, but the final game opted for silence instead.
It is unknown where these two songs, named "Okada 1" and "Okada E" respectively, were going to be used, but they both seem to be the exact same song. The only difference is the instrumentation.
Regional Differences
The international version uses passwords instead of a save file.
The Japanese version features a spooky animated title with a purple thundering cloud effect. The international version shows a poppy title card with less ghoul.
